Before painting this little deck was peeling very badly when we started the project. It looked like the previous house painters didn't prepare the surface properly and perhaps applied it to damp wood. The paint they used was very good but poor application caused that paint not to stick to the wood. When we started with the preparation process we started peeling off huge pieces of paint. What a shame. We prepared it properly, made sure wood was dry before the application process began. We then applied Benjamin Moore Collection exterior alkyde paint with gloss sheen. We also had silica sand put into the paint to create an anti slip surface when wet or under snow.
